Fundraising

AAUW-Concord Branch fundraising activities are open to the public.  We encourage the public to attend these events as a way to learn more about AAUW-Concord and contribute to our local and national philanthropic efforts.

Annual Concord AAUW Art, Wine & Beer Walk

Each May, on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, we hold an art, wine and beer walk in Todos Santos Plaza (Downtown Concord, CA).  This event along is our signature fundraising event for scholarships to local girls (Tech Trek) and women (College Scholarships).  For more information, or to participate see our home page for past Art, Wine & Beer Walk events.

Concord Education Foundation (CEF) / Educational Opportunities Fund (EF) /Fundraiser

Each February, AAUW-Concord co-organizes this fundraising event with AAUW-Clayton.  Together they organize a hearty potluck lunch followed by a scholarly presentation by a recipient of an AAUW Education Opportunities Fund Scholarship.  Proceeds go to CEF scholarships for women transferring from a local college to a 4-year university and EF (an AAUW (National) program).  Check Programs for more information.

Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF) Fundraiser

The activities vary from year to year, but typically, each March, the LAF Committee of AAUW-Concord holds an event that informs and educates the general public about discrimination cases that are being tried in court.   Proceeds go to the AAUW (National) LAF programCheck Programs for more information.

Silent Auction Fundraiser

Our Silent Auction fundraiser takes place during our December holiday luncheon.  Attendees bring a gift for the auction and may purchase raffle tickets to use toward winning any of the gifts available.  Proceeds from the purchase of raffle tickets support AAUW-Concord Branch activities.

Backpacks for Children Fundraiser

Each August, AAUW-Concord provides backpacks stuffed with school supplies to a Concord elementary school or a school within the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.  We accept money and school supplies from late July to mid-August.  Help us help underprivileged children prepare for school!
